THE SCC MODEL RAILROAD CLUB CELEBRATES JULY 4TH
IN THE PALM ROOM, JOINING IN THE HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES!
WEDNESDAY, JULY 4TH, FROM NOON UNTIL 3:00 PM
“Model Trains in the Palm Room?” You may ask... Yes, its our new portable N Scale modular railroad known as T-Trak, and you can be part of the fun! Stop in and learn what it's all about. We will have an operating display of individually owned modules in various stages of development, from bare plywood to completion. If you are a Community Association Member in good standing, and like what you see, you are welcome to join us.
Each module is 12”x 14”, which equals more than ¾ of an acre in “N” scale's ratio of 1 to 160 and costs just $7.50. You can develop your property as you see fit as long as you lay the rails of the mainline in the correct spot. Once the track is layed, you can participate in club meets where multiple modules are assembled into an operating railroad. Then, bring your prize home for more work or display. You can choose to develop any scene, in any era. You are only limited by your own imagination! There is no technical knowledge involved, nor any previous experience required. You can increase your real estate holdings with the purchase of more acreage.
The Palm room is at the front of Old Town Hall, directly behind the bandstand. We hope to see you there on the fourth.

Holiday Festivity Is A Great Success.
The Sun City Center Model Railroad Club is now expanding into N scale modeling. Half the size of HO, N scale is a more practical medium for hobbyists with limited space in their homes. We will continue to maintain, improve and operate our HO scale masterpiece, “The Sun City Central Railroad”. However, new and existing club members will now be invited to design and build their own T-Trak Standard N Scale modules. In the club room, they will be temporarily joined with the modules of others for group operating sessions and open houses. As more modules are built, the assembled configuration will change and the layout will grow. This is the same way our club got started in HO scale 28 years ago, before we were awarded our own quarters.
We are just getting started on this exciting new venture, which provides an excellent venue for existing N “scalers” to help in the planning process and share their experience with like minded hobbyists. It is also an opportunity for novices to get involved in a rewarding hobby. |
