General Information The Sun City Central
RR is an "HO" scale layout located in the Model Railroad Clubroom at
915 North Course Lane. Geographically,
the Sun City Central Railroad covers the territory of the Middle Atlantic States
and serves many towns and industries along the way. The time period depicted is
circa 1955; thus there are still steam engine locomotives in operation as well
as the more ubiquitous diesels. Operation of this Model Railroad is by wireless "Digitrax" Direct Command Control (DCC). All locomotives and all mainline turnouts have embedded addressable DCC decoders. The Club also utilizes software that enables remote dispatcher control as well as true "hands off" PC controlled operation of eight trains simultaneously on our double track mainline. Regularly
scheduled Club sessions are held 1:00 PM 3:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday and
Friday afternoons. Currently the Monday and Tuesday sessions are utilized for
construction and maintenance while Fridays are usually devoted to running trains.
The Club has a "Prototype Operations" Group that meets in the Club Room
on selected evenings. Annual dues
are $30 for all members. Additionally, there is a one time Initiation Fee of $50. Need additional club information? Click
